Here comes possibly the best screensaver for Mac OS X.

Time Machine: The screensaver. And what's more, even Tiger users (are there any of those?) can use it!

I haven't used it yet (downloading the 1.5MB file as I type this), but I'm sure it's gonna rock.

It's a tiny little person who saves your screen in case it trips over and falls down. This one is particularly efficient.

The downloaded folder actually has an alias already in it that directs it to the proper place.. just drag/drop the quartz file to the alias, and it will then show up in your screensaver list.

Great post Goobi!! (must spread around)

No go. "Volume could not be found"

This didn't work either. The folder was there, but there was nothing in it. I tried dropping it in anyway, but it still didn't show up in my screen saver list in preferences.

I found the correct folder though: macHD > system > library > screen savers

Would this work with xBack http://www.gideonsoftworks.com/xback.html ?
That would be great :)

I haven't tried xBack myself yet as I reckon it could be quite resource intensive, just wondered ...

Cheers,

Hugh

You can also try Quartz Desktop. It allows for any quartz composition to be overlayed on the desktop. The best part is it allows you to configure how many fps you want so you don't waste CPU cycles.

Haha yeah sorry but I sometimes am asked if I still have that old screensaver. I had deleted it therefore the dead link and since this thread ranks pretty high in google when searching Time Machine Screensaver I thought I could just add the link ;)
