Sometimes when I activate the dashboard, audio advertiesements like you would hear on the radio begin to play. These advertisements stop when I exit the dashboard, but will begin again when I reopen it. The ads do not play every time I open the dashboard. I have taken any widgets that i downloaded from the internet off, and the problem persists.:(

It sounds like you are using Web Clips—the widgets you make in Safari that display Web pages—and that one of the Web pages has ads. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any way to entirely mute Web Clips, so you might just have to find which page has the ads and remove that Web Clip. There's more information about Web Clips in Safari's Help; just open it and search for Web Clip widget.

I reset the dock, and completely deleted widgets i had downloaded. maybe they were causing the ads even if not in use? thank you, it seems to have solved the problem.
