I currently have a white plastic macbook which I purchased in May. It is the most recent version, excluding the new aluminium. It has 2.1 ghz and is the base model, but I upgraded the RAM to two gigs. I have now been doing more video and media editing and was wondering if I should do a self replacement to 4 gigs considering my machine is getting slower.

4.0GB Kit (2.0GB+2.0GB) PC2-5300 DDR2 667... (53IM2DDR4GBK) at OWC

I have been eye-balling these and have been close to clicking the "add to basket button" several times. can someone verify that it is compatible with my mac, and if I should even upgrade at all? Thanks a ton ;)

I direct you here. Yes they are compliant with your MB, so is the one that you listed.

They cost less and are faster. Happy upgrading. ^-^

The Kingston are def faster than the OWC.

And here is some Corsair equivalent to the Kingston and cheaper, but only after rebate.

Seems to be geting bad reviews from some Mac owners though. >_>"

"You have six days (that's right, 6 days) from the date of purchase to get the rebate postmarked or you don't qualify." This also puts me off.

I upgraded my macbook to 4gb of ram and it was a great decision. It's an easy upgrade and it makes the computer a lot faster. You might need to look into getting a small phillips screwdriver if you don't already have one though.
