how hot?

i have istat pro in my widgets and some times i reads my cpu to be 180-190 dergress F. so my question is when does it become dangerous to operate. what is the no-no temp?

The machine will shut down long before that happens. It does this in order to protect itself. As long as your computer is running and there is no noticeable problems, you are fine.

I would suggest not paying attention to temperature monitors or gauges, as they tend to make people more neurotic about the temperature of their machines. Notebook computer get hot.... period. The machine will monitor itself and shut down when appropriate, so there really isn't anything that you would need to do to prevent damage.
If you are worried about heat, then I recommend getting a cooling mat.

You should also keep in mind that software temperature readings are often wrong, sometimes VERY wrong. Unless you have a physical probe sitting right next to the core of your processor, you can't really trust software temp gauges.

Like DB said, as long as your computer isn't getting so hot that it burns your finger/lap, then you really have nothing to worry about.
