2008 Olympics

Well with the opening ceremonies and all I figured the olympics is sort of a big deal... eh. Heh. Just kidding. So thought I would open up a thread for general discussion on the olympics.

So what's your favorite summer olympic sport?

Mine is Water Polo... when else do you get to see water polo???

I'm really looking forward to soccer and swimming the most, and maybe gymnastics and beach volleyball.

The U.S. Men's soccer team can be a joke at times, but I look forward to how the U.S. Women's team will do.

I think the swimming events are the most exciting to watch followed closely by all the running events.

the men's team has been qualifying for the past 4 or 5 world cups. Thats pretty good. The mens under 18s played some great ball in the under 18 wc in canada. And the mens national team tied argentina (the number one ranked team in the world at the time) a few months ago.

I'd say they're doing pretty good...

Track and Field and Basketball. However, I kind of like to check out all the different sports. It's kind of cool to see how intense everyone is about their particular sport. Even the ping pong / table tennis player.

Soccer, Judo and Tae Kwon Do.

Good thing they are broadcasting the last two on the net, since on one in America apparently cares about the martial arts. lol.

I remember awhile back, that was not always the case. But that's great to hear now. I'll be looking forward to see how the U.S. men's team will do then.

I just learned the rules to Judo and that made it a whole lot more entertaining to watch. Also learned the rules to handball too.

Who saw that 4x100 meter relay... that was a freaking ridiculous comeback... I've never seen such a comeback with so little time left...

I'm by no means a swimming fan but that race was awesome. The anchors split time broke the 100 m freestyle record by 1.5 seconds. Unreal.

Gotta love the olympics.
