Could someone recommend a good program that would un-zip .RAR files.

Have you tried double clicking the RAR file?

Standard Zip files can be opened within OSX simply by double clicking the file. Any other compression formats i strongly recommend Stuffit Expander, its opened pretty much everything ive ever thrown at it :D

Yeah I tried to open it but it just asked me what program should it use to open it.

Stuffit Expander used to come pre-installed on Macs. Since Tiger, I think, you have to download it yourself as it doesn't come on the Install/Restore disks anymore. :)

I like Zipeg because it shows you the content of a Zip file so that you can selectively unarchive a particular file. If only someone made a *reasonably priced* version of Winzip (StuffIt is way overpriced IMO).
