Is there such a device as a printer/copier only?

I ask on behalf of a Mac friend who currently has a Canon MP450 plus an Epson V700 scanner. He is hard at work scanning historical photos, and the Epson does a brilliant job. The printing of the scanned photos via the Canon is not so hot, although it's fine for text and lower-res scanning/printing. The Canon is to be replaced.

The one function of the Canon MP that my friend would miss, is photocopying. So, is there a thoroughly Mac-compatible machine that prints high quality images, and will also photocopy documents?

An included flat bed scanner is no longer required (although the inclusion of one would not be a huge impediment).

Thank you. I'm stuck on the dreaded dialup, but I'd like to browse the site much more thoroughly, especially as it summarizes the functions of most listed devices. A scanner seems, from the brief look I've had, to be an integral feature of combination units.
