X over battery symbol

Just recently instead of there being a "lightning bolt" in the battery symbol there is an X what does this mean?

X means no battery.

X means no battery.

X means the computer is not reading the existence of a battery in the battery bay. Try resetting the SMC and download and install the most recent battery update.
