I need another usb port on my Imac, it has 3 but the keyboard and mouse take up one, the printer another and my external drive the third. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you have one of the new slim keyboards, they are powered.

If they are, it's not much. If my plug my iPod and headphones into them at the same time, OSX gives me an error informing me that I am attempting to pull too much power through my USB ports. If I hook up the same devices through a normal hub, everything's fine.

Apple changed their site to show that the new Aluminium keyboard only works with Powered Devices if it's plugged into the new Aluminium iMac. On other Macs it's USB 2.0 but does not get enough power. Not sure why but that is what Apple is now saying and what I have experienced here in person.

Plug the mouse into the keyboard and you get one more free on the iMac right?

You can find wireless USB hubs too. They work great because you can leave printers and hard disks and other things that you don't move around much and plug them in, hide the cables, and not have to worry about plugging them in. I use it on a printer that I have in the other room.
