Passcode iphone

For my 18th my boyfriend bought me the iphone 2g of ebay
i love this phone and has my entire life on it .
but because my friend kept going on it i set a passcode
i remember this passcode as i use it for everything !

so i set it and went on it and it worked but i used the light of the phone to go up the stairs as it was late, and when i got upstairs it wasn't recognizing my passcode and disabled me .

so i read up and they said to sync it and then restore it ,
but for some reason it gets close to the end and just stops and crashes.

any suggestions or methods???

should i just take it the apple store? the



( please note: this phone is not stolen it had my picture on its background and i can provide every information that is on this phone, recipe can be provided , so no nonsense on how "MY" phone is robbed)

Could've been the ol' switcharoo..kidding.

I would take it to the Apple Store, but, beware that it may cost you for service since 1) It is used and you got it off eBay and 2) There's probably no warranty at all on it.

You could first try restoring it to an old backup WITHOUT the passcode. Then it wouldn't have the passcode on it. But you'll lose everything on it prior to setting the passcode. Well, messages and new contacts and pictures etc.

But if you take it to Apple, you will lose everything anyway, so you've got nothing to lose.

hi, sorry i posted in the wrong forum, my bad

prior to restoring I did a full back up and everything was fine, but then as soon as itunes tried to update and install 3.1.3 it just got stuck on the restore screen. I have also tried manually installing the 3.1.2 firmware (click "alt" on the restore button and finding the firmware on my hard drive) but this also just sticks..

anyone got any suggestions ?

yes ive to install 3.1.3 but its just gets stuck at the same point

Try this before you take it to apple.

Perform a reset like normal (holding the home and sleep buttons) but continue to hold them throughout the reboots until the connect to itunes logo appears.

Well, I'm assuming you already had it in Recovery Mode when trying to resotre your iPhone, so I'm guessing that step has already been covered.

Well prehaps you shouldn't say anything on here if it's not useful and hasn't been already covered! IT MAKES YOU LOOK SILLY!

Your comments here weren't really needed. You suggested that the OP put her phone into recovery mode, this has obviously been done to restore her phone in the first place.

If you can't contribute to a topic, weather it be; the subject has already been covered or you just simply don't know the answer, don't say anything.
