It's good to know, and let me make this clear, I'm not suggesting this pathway as a solution for lori but one of the things that MacKeeper did do well was uninstall itself. The MacKeeper folder included an Uninstaller which was quite effective at removing both the app and it's associated files. In one instance on another forum it was suggested to an OP that they should reinstall the app then use the Uninstaller to remove it because it was more effective than trying to manually find all of the elements of the app. That OP reported this was successful.
So if the app is unintentionally installed first step is to look for the Uninstaller rather than just trashing the bits you can see. MacKeeper is an insideous and invasive app which installs files all over the place.
I used to be conceited but now I'm perfect.

Lori, bear in mind that if you have no problems you can disregard some of the solutions and suggestions but if you do it might be worth copying some of our replies for future reference.
This site was supposed to have been shut down in December 2017 according to the site owners but for some reason it is still alive. We have no idea for how long so all of these threads may disappear at any time. You could just copy and paste them into a Word doc. for future reference.

Thnx... I think I just panicked and quickly deleted mac-keeper.
Yes I heard this site was closing and I certainly hope the posts and reply’s can be synced with new site. Way too many replies to copy/paste for safety.
The only thing is I have no ideas what files still linger on my laptop from Mac-keeper. Will have to watch for any reoccurances.

It will not be possible to migrate the data base to the new site. So what we have posted will be lost. Sad but true.

+1 for Easyfind. I tried FAF, got rid of it. Much prefer Easyfind.

thanks for the tip.....oh my that is too bad....I have had so much help from members on this site. I will have to make this a project of mine to go thru all my posts and copy/paste some of the important and very helpful replies and keep for my reference.

now that is going to be a big job...hopefully I will get it done before the site closes!!!
