Since this is a forum of innovative thinkers, I thought I'd share this concept. I suppose it's appealing to me since I have a visual impairment and laptops are always a challenge because I have to lean in close to view the screen. (part of the reason I went for my MBP was the zoom feature)

What do you think? Would it help with smaller screen viewing, comfort, or anything else? I think it would definitely help with laptop users' posture.

Looks maybe a little too rickety to me. I like the idea though.

Yeah, I saw that on CNET Crave. Very cool concept. LG does make some decent degisns in my opinion. Before my MBP, I almost bough their T1 model; 14.1" screen, optical drive, but very light and less than an inch thick. If it had C2D, which it soon will, I would have been sold.

I don't see how this laptop with its own adjustable screen stand can remind you of an iMac. Please elaborate.

what's AIO design. I couldn't find anything on it in a search. Do you mean the shape of the stand?? And, other than the flat, wide shapre of the neck, they look nothing alike.

Yeah, but it's not really a laptop like the other. It's just trying to pretend to be one. Don't see many sales of that Dell.

yeah, it is way expensive. it is basically an 20" iMac with a wireless mouse and keyboard attached, plus an internal battery so in can be portable.
but it does have a MUCH better sound and vid card. (x1800 vs x1600)
    iMac so configured = $1852
    Dell XPS 1910 = $3913

i disagree. i actually configured it to match, as best as i could, to a similar 20" iMac. they both had the same/similar processor, screen, memory, wireless keyboard and mouse, DVD burner, extended warranty.........
HD drive sizes were different, and so were the speakers and vid cards.

it started out as a $2999 deal.
