Adam Yauch, better known as MCA, and one third of the Beastie Boys, passed away after battling cancer since being diagnosed in 2009.

I grew up in the heart of where it all started with the boys, having seen them at many venues in Brooklyn and NYC. Sad day. He was not only very talented, but a very down to earth (as are their entire crew) and socially conscious person. Sad day to say the least.

Way... way too many specs to list.
I agree with all of the above (even if I did spend my time on the east coast a bit further south), very sad day indeed.

I was hoping this was another internet rumor when my wife informed me earlier today of the tragic news. I didn't even know he was battling cancer. *gulp* I'm so glad I was able to see them live at least once. Amazing, talented, super cool guys!
