Sounds like another lawsuit in NY a little while back where a woman sued her college for all of her tuition because she was "promised' that she would get a job if she got a degree from that college..

And lawyers not having jobs..that's unfathomable..

Perhaps they could draw staws and sue each other in turn . . . then none of them would need jobs. ;)

Seriously, though it is admittedly hard to work up sympathy for lawyers, they do have a somewhat legitimate beef. It has been common practice for way too long for Schools (public and private) to dramatically overstate the financial worth of their product in marketing it to young kids (and their parents) who don't know any better.

I don't have a ready solution to offer, other than requiring schools to provide prospective students with an analysis of the debt a typical student in their course of study graduates with, along with how long it takes on average to pay off that debt, might help.

The problem is when a school says there is a demand for the profession now. it does not mean it will be there in 5-6 years when they graduate.

They only have a case if they went to those for-profit universities that actually DO promise employment. I saw a hidden camera report on a lot of these schools...wow, do they know how to mess up a person's life. :(
