I'm curious, I am planning on buying a 17" iMac G5 at the local Apple Store and my girlfriend is a grad student at a University, what does she need to get the iMac G5 for $1199 and office 2004 for $149? Her student ID? Thanks

At the Apple stores they make you show a student ID and drivers license. When I bought my mini at the college store, I didn't have to show anything.

When I purchased my iMac they didn't ask for any proof. Only once I mentioned that I figured that they would require some proof did the guy say "oh... uh.. yeah, you have an ID or schedule or anything?" :bomb: I showed him a print-up of my class schedule and my DL and that was that.

I got my ibook online and just had to enter the name of the university and the place. Nothing else... I guess anyone can type in any university name and place and order it.

Nothing much in it really. Don't know about stores though..

when i picked up my mac, the guy just wanted to know what school I was going to, no other questions. But I assume each store/person is a little different. Side note, have your girlfriend check with the university to see if they sell software at a discount. I got my MSoffice for 5$. If it's a big school they might have a deal like mine.
