To be very honest with you, I didn't feel much of a noticeable difference with the compensator on. What ever difference I did feel, I attributed to the new Pearce rubber finger grips, and wooden sides.
I already shot this gun well before, as evident by the first shot at 40 yards being a bullseye, so the compensator didn't impress me positively in shooting, but all I mostly wanted to know is will it degrade my shooting ability, since I didn't splurge big $$ on it, and it didn't. I only paid $30 for it, it's a bargain in my mind. Will I pay 100 for one. Nope.
I mostly got this for looks, and for it to maintain those looks while not degrading my shooting abilities. I did that well. They had a custom SS Colt on display with a compensator at my LGR, and I had to try one out. However, I still trust the factory bushing more than this piece.
As for the recoil, I actually enjoy the recoil of this Kimber more than that of my CZ75 P07 that I traded in. It's more "manageable," in my hands. I also like the weight of this gun. It all ties in together to work well as a unit.
The instructor called my Kimber "The Reaper."
I'm so happy I decided to go with this gun...I just frikin LOVE it. I feel sorry for doubting them for any stupid thought that might have come across my mid due to stupid things I've read on line.
