Where do you get/read the news?
This forum thread links to a CNN article in which a reader comments something to the effect that newspapers as we know them are slowly dying off due to the availability of online news.

Personally, I rarely pick up an actual newspaper any more; however, I read 3 or more online newspapers/news sites daily. I often compare the same news story between sites to see how and if the story is covered.

My question is two-fold: as the title suggests, where do you get/read the news; and, do you think the future of the "hard copy" newspaper is doomed?

    Pretty much:

    www.bbc.co.uk
    www.nytimes.com
    www.guardian.co.uk

In addition, I buy the New York times maybe twice a week, the Economist every other week (it's a bi-weekly publication) and I try and watch Channel 13 (PBS) on TV or BBC world. I avoid Fox, CNN and the other commercial news channels.

For specialist news, I will use specialist web sites.

Same here. The mainstream media has too much of an agenda, whether left or right.

The sad part is, The Daily Show actually is sometimes less biased and more substantial than US televised, non-satirical news.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Let me rephrase, mainstream U.S. media.

IMO, if you want the real story, you have to read it from at least 5 different sources then piece it together yourself anyway.

No, but I'll bet it's good. Stewart is just awesome.

I'll never forget when Bill Gates walked off on him - oh, and **** Cheney's wife too.

He was being really nice for that interview, wasn't bringing up anything bad being a good host. Then she made that comment, and you could just see his eyes drop, like "here we go".
