    Specs:
iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, 256 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, 8 GB RAM
Depending on the vintage of IE you are using, you may not be able to. The problem with older browsers is that they do not support the latest web standards. Hence a lot of the clever HTML/CSS/etc. that makes up today's web pages just isn't understood (or rendered correctly). You may be unable to ever fix this, I'm afraid.

What version of IE are you using?
My Macs: iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5 GHz, G4 Cube with 1.2 GHz Upgrade
    My iStuff: 64GB iPhone 5, 64GB iPad4, 30GB iPod Video, 16GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS 9.2.2, openSUSE 10.3

There is an update for IE 5 but the mac IE website is history. It may help some,
but look for a newer OS9 browser, I use Netscape 7, Opera and Icab.

    Specs:
    G4 Tiger and OS 9
This post might help in switching to another browser, in this case, WaMCom, which is Mozilla 1.3.1.

WaMCom is available here. It's the fourth link under the Downloads heading. It incorporates the fix in the link immediately after it, so ignore the fix.

iCab is probably the best browser still maintained for mac os 9
however, it does give you a registration reminder every time you start it up
