I have a MacBook Pro and I use parallels. When I first set up my Mac I partitioned disc space for Mac and Windows XP. I now want to take disk space from the Windows side and move it to my Mac side. How do I do that?

Thank you. Skipper1072

Delete the partition for Windows using Boot Camp.

Thanks for you input. However, I don't have Boot Camp installed since I'm using Parallels. Plus, I now don't have enough memory to install Bootcamp. Please provide an alternative solution. Thank you.

If you're asking for a Boot Camp partition, then nZa is correct. There is no way to change the size of the partition without deleting it and starting over.

Now if you're asking about the space allocated to a virtual machine, then you'll need to go into settings for that VM and manually change its size.

Also, I still want to use Windows, but I no longer need the disk space I allotted for Windows. I just want to take 16G from the Windows side and apply that to my Mac side. Skipper:D

I'm sorry, I thought you meant you started with Boot Camp and now use Parallels.

I've never used Parallels, but to change the partition size in Boot Camp, you have to delete the partition and create a new one, thus losing everything on your Windows partition and having to reinstall everything, including Windows. Hopefully for you, Parallels isn't the same way. :)

nZa:

Please don't be sorry. Thanks for your information. I am using Parallels and I need to move disc space from my VM in Windows to the Mac side. I don't know how and if I can do that. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear in my initial message. Skipper

Turn on Parallels, select your Virtual Machine (if it doesn't load automatically) and then double click on the hard disk icon. Depending on which version of Parallels you have, you should be able to change the size from the settings window that pops up.
