I just bought a Macbook Pro, and want to put Vista, Ubuntu, and Mac OS on my Mac with partitions. Is this possible? I am reading lots of different things about the Mac OS and that it cannot work on PCs. Please let me know.
Sure is possible. I would recommend using parallels that way you don't have to split your drive into 3 partitions and have to reboot to get into either OS.
If you use parallels all you have to do is run parallels install the OS's (without having to partition the drive) and then full screen the OS, no fuss no muss.
Parallels? You have a link for that? I had Ubuntu and XP on my old computer with Grub switching the 2.
Oh, the big question right now for me is, how do you intstall Vista now from Mac OS? I put the disk in and rebooted and nothing? Can you give me the commands please? I am new to Mac OS. For Windows it was f3 i think.
Historia,
In order to install Vista on your Mac as you described you will need to install Bootcamp. This utility will partition your harddrive giving you free space to install XP or Vista and a Driver Disk. It also adds a Bios Layer so the install Disks can boot correctly. Macs use EFI and not Bios.
After you install Vista you will need to install the drivers from the Driver disk. You may need to download updated Drivers for the Video Card.
Now if you didn't care about Aero or running 3D Games or Applications, installing Vista in Parallels or VMware fusion is much easier and doesn't require that you repartition your harddrive.

Parallels is here Try it before you bother partitioning and using boot camp.
BootCamp won't work for you, then.Good. I have Vista on 5 CDs, but it says I have to have one disc only. Is this true or can I use the 5?
Parallels is your best option for achieving that goal. Unfortunately, that course of action to get all three operating systems installed is going to cost some money.I want it free
