    Boot Camp Hard Disk Questions
    Hi Guys

I'm hoping to get a new 27" Imac in the next couple of weeks with the 256 GB SSD drive.

I'm planning to use half of this drive for Win 7 and half for Snow Leopard.

I'm hoping to use an external drive (or possibly a second internal drive) as a "saves" drive for shared files/music etc between the two platforms.

Is there a way of formatting the drive so it can be accessed fully with full read/write ability by both Win 7 and OSX without the need for any other software???

    Thanks in advance

    Jim

Assuming you're referring to the second drive, yes there is a way to format it so that it will be read and write capable for both operating systems. Use FAT-32 as the format. However, FAT-32 is limited to a single file size of around 4 GB.

Otherwise, you can format the drive to NTFS and install Paragon NTFS in OS X for full read write capability. It's $19.95 and works well.

Many thanks for that, NTFS & Paragon sounds like a decent fit for me, just to be sure, would there be any read/write authority issues at all?

None whatsoever. Paragon is rock steady and recommended by most of us here who need a driver to read and write to NTFS. Paragon can even create and repair NTFS drives which not even Disk Utility can do.
