I run a macbook alongside my partitioned hard drive that supports my pc activities.

i run mac os x 10.5.8.

My vmware fusion suddenly stopped opening when i tried to open it. Specifically, when i launch vm, it never completely opens and simply shows a status bar which eventually gets stuck at the same point of progress, or lack thereof.

I have tried:
1) turning off system and then starting it
2) removing batter
3) tried to start vmware fusion and it asks me how i want to open up the program i.e. safe mode, like normal, reach back in time to the last successful start up etc.

My wife tried #s 1-3 above. It still does not start.

I am out of state and away from our IT dept at work. I am really hosed if I do not have access to all of the info on the pc side of my mac hard drive.

What can I do to avoid having to sweep all of the prior content from my pc and simply remedying the hurdle at hand?

Been using Time Machine to backup your computer? If you have, just restore from a time when VMWare Fusion was working OK. Otherwise, because restoring the Fusion snapshot is not working, you'll just have to delete the VM and start over.
