so i just signed up for netflix with my macbook pro and had to download the windows silverlight plug-in. thing is, whenever i try to click on certain links on netflix it'll keep logging me out. i can't check my account information or anything.

so i tried it on my pc, which runs windows vista, and there are no problems at all. i'm not too computer savvy, but could anyone give me a clue as to what may be wrong?

If you downloaded the Windows version of Silverlight, you'll need to make sure to download the Mac version. You can get it here. If that still doesn't work, try using another browser.

Silverlight is only required for streaming videos from Netflix. It is not required just browsing the site.

I'd try and reset Safari. Try a different browser also.

Netflix crashes

I've been a member of Netflix for about 3 weeks. Everything was working just fine until yesterday. I'm not too computer literate but can follow directions. I've done everything I was recommended. Emptied cache...did something with cookies, changed browser, added a browser, etc. You name it I did it.

I just click play and the browser quits...all three of them.

Hope someone can help! Maybe I should just cancel my membership to Netflix.

Thanks,
Margie

I have yet to try another browser on my mac, but I'm wondering if I should just uninstall silverlite and see if netflix works without it? Wonder if it's imperative I need it...

Yes it is. The web player uses Silverlight. Without it, you won't get any video. If you've yet to try another browser, give that a try.
