The last time I was using Windows Vista on my new MacBook Pro, the screen turned black and the computer was not responsive. After holding the power button, I was able to turn it off and boot to OS X.

But now I cannot boot Windows, and I cannot even boot from CD (I tried both Windows and Ubuntu CD.: For a split second, I see a black screen with a blinking cursor. The cursor then disappears, and the computer is unresponsive - no blinking cursor, no disk or CD activity, nothing. I'd appreciate any help!

Sounds like something crashed your Vista installation and now it won't boot.

See if this article helps: Link

If that doesn't help, you may be forced to remove the Boot Camp partition and start over by creating a new partition and reinstalling Vista.

Regards.
