Best 2006 Mac mini Processor upgrade option

Hello all,

I have an early 2006 mac mini with a: 1.66Ghz Intel Core Duo Processor.
I am looking to upgrade it, what is the best option to consider? And/Or what is the newest/fastest processor available that is a compatible upgrade option. Thanks for all the input!!!

Does it need to be a "mobile" or "desktop" C2D?

Anything faster than 2.16 C2D I can use?

Not sure about the fastest, but I upgraded my 1.66 Ghz Mini with a 2.16C2D out of a broken 24" iMac. Works great.
