Apps not working :(

I have a slight problem. Every time I respring or restart my iphone skips the lockscreen and just goes straight to the home screen, so it passes my password security. If i then try and click any app it will just push in like you hit it but it wont load. When i have to respring or restart i have to push sleep to turn it off and then turn it back on. It then works fine after i put it to sleep once. If you have any suggestions please help me.

MBP 17" 2.66 core 2 duo & 4gigs ram, iPhone 3G S 16 gig, Dell Mini9 running OSX.5.7 1.6 atom
That happened to me 3 days after i bought my 3G S. For some reason I had to completely delete itunes from my computer then download and re-install itunes. That was the directions from apple tech support, but it worked.
