hi folks
hope someone can help with this. i have a G4 350 'Sawtooth'. I've recently brought it out of storage and am happily using it. problem is this: when i try to connect it up to ethernet I get the message : 'ethernet cable is not plugged in' when I check its status under sys prefs/network. I had this issue previously and assumed it was a fried firewire port so shelled out for a new Presto Gigabit Pro which is compatible and is seen by the Mac. BUT the problem remains. It's still telling me that the 'cable is not plugged in' when it is.
I have been using a Belkin ethernet/usb connector and am currently using it on this computer to send this message. So the leads and the lan connections are all ok but I can't get the mac to recognise the cable when it's plugged directly into the Presto ethernet port. Any suggestions please?
thanks in anticipation
