Guest account apps/dock

I was just wondering if there is a way to set certain apps in the dock of the guest account rather than the default ones, and have them stay there for the next time a guest signs on.

If you want to remove an application from the Dock, you need to simply click on it and drag it off. To add a new application, select it and drag it to where you want it. Applications you have put in the Dock, or were already in the Dock will remain there the next time the person logs on (apart from running applications whose icon is not normally in the Dock)

Ummm no... Im not talking about a normal personal account. When you activate the guest account option it loads a guest account that allows guest to log onto your computer and use apps and stuff but does not allow access to files/ personal folders. The guest account also deletes all information the guest may have downloaded/ changed in their home folder as to not allow information on the account to pile up with useless one-time use files/folders.

Thanks anyway but my question is beyond that of a first time mac user.

This is what you need to do.

1. Download and install the Leopard Server Admin Tools from Apple.
2. Make sure the guest account is logged out.
3. Open Workgroup Manager, which you just installed as part of step #1.
4. Select the guest account and click Preferences in the tool bar.
5. Click Dock on the right side. Click Manage Always at the top of the window. Add and remove the Dock items you want in your customized Dock.
6. Uncheck Merge With User's Dock" at the bottom of the window.
7. Quit Workgroup Manager.

I tried following your instructions the8thark but I've hit a snag at steps 4...

I am getting a window with the title workgroup manager connect....

I thought the server program was only for networks, I am trying to set this on one computer with two profiles, Myself and a Guest account.
