Hi, I'm new to the world of Macs. Looking at making my first mac purchase - imac 24" 2.8Ghz. Where do you guys recommend buying from? Best price, best service, shipping etc. I live in Perth WA.

Thanks in advance

Andy:)

Gateway2000 P5-60. 66Mhz and 128 MB RAM.
I just ordered my Mac from Apple. Great price and fast shipping. Plus they have a printer rebate.
I wouldn't recommend paying for more RAM from them if you can upgrade it yourself. It's usually a lot cheaper.

Buy it from Apple. Also, consider a refurbished machine. Apple's QA for refurbished equipment is is very high. You won't be disappointed. 

Thanks for the quick replies. I did look at the refurb 24" 2.4GHz. I would like more than the 1MB RAM advertised with these. How easy is it to upgrade and what kind of performance difference would I see between the older 2.4 and the new 2.8GHz machines?

There is a small cover on the bottom with one small phillips screw holding it in. Once removed there are 2 slots for the ram and a small plastic tab that pulls the ram out of place, Then you simply push in your new sticks :)

They get put in the box when the build it. The stickers will come no matter where you order it from.

I saw both white and black stickers for sale at a local Apple retailer, Mac Resource, on Friday. I've also seen Apple stickers for sale on a few different websites.
