I have overwritten a directory with 100-200 files that I need. I have no idea what to do or how to get these files back... Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you've been using Time Machine with an external hard drive to back up your files, no problem. If not, you'll have to get a professional to recover those files for you.

Without a backup to revert to, it's going to be difficult to get your files back. If you haven't overwritten the files themselves, there's a chance you may be able to recover some of them with software.

You can try the "Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery Software" - download from here. Download the trial version to see if it can recover any of your data prior to purchasing the application. The latest version is Snow Leopard compatible. $99.00 US.

Regards.
