Emergency Eject Hole

does the current iBook G4 even have one? and where is it?

I accidentaly inserted what seems to be a nonstandard disc in to my iBook's slot loading drive, and not only can I not eject it, I cannot even recognise it to get it out.

How do it get the disc out?

I've tried all the things (including reboot w/mouse button and open firmware).

Help?

1. Make sure the disc is not in use.
2. Quit all applications that are using files on the disc.
3. Press the Media Eject key at the top-right corner of the keyboard.
4. If that doesn't work, hold down the function key and press the Media Eject key.
5. If that doesn't work, drag the disc's icon to the Trash.
6. If that doesn't work, restart the computer, and hold down the mouse button as the computer starts up.
7. To restart, choose Restart from the Apple menu.

somtimes.. if you press the itunes eject button at the bottem right it might work

There is no icon

There is no disc 'officially' inserted.

It does not recognise the disc. I even tried restarting w/the mouse button.

Help?

Make sure the disc is not in use.
Quit all applications that are using files on the disc.

Carefully insert the end of a straightened paper clip into the emergency eject hole on the drive tray.

I have heard that using a business card may help in the removal of the disk.

Stick some double sided sticky tape to a flat, thin bit of card and try to grab the disc that way.
The current iBooks don't have a real emergency eject button any more.
Or try holding the iBook on it's side?

If all else fails, take it to an apple technician and have them remove it.

That might have to be the way to go.

Anyone else ever had this problem?

It grabbed the disc though

and the side doesnt work
