My computer wasn't responding, so I shut it down by pressing the turn off button. Ever since that incident, I cannot open DrScheme.app (a scheme application was open when i shut down my computer). I tried using zsh commands such as ./DrScheme.app as well as the comands exec and open. However, nothing worked. I would appreciate any proposal to this thread.

For future reference if an Application is frozen or unresponsive, use Option+Command+Esc to Force Quit just that one App. Do not hold down the power button to shut down.
Have you tried going into Disk Utility and running Verify Permissions? You may have messed some things up by shutting down in that manner. Try that first and if there are issues, Repair Permissions, Restart, and try to open your DrScheme app again. Report back here.
