Why is everything in Word for Mac half-screen!?

why is everything in Microsoft Word for MAC half-screen?

it totally sucks! ive tried "view>>full screen" and clicking on the green enlarge button and the biggest it gets is still not big enough to view my entire document from left to right

***!? why would they design it like this??

You might want to give the zoom button a try. It's in the top toolbar, on the right in this picture (the dropdown menu that says 160%):

Try a search here on the forum "maximizing windows" and you'll find some answers and links there.

Just click/hold the lower right corner of the window, and drag it to your desired size.

and go up to the top and change the percent to 200; I only recently discovered the little corner square at the bottom right to drag the page out wide. you will love it : )
