I was thinking of swapping to the black housing that was featured in the older macbooks, only issue I could see would be the side ports not matching up, any ideas'?

OR to aluminum uni body.

You can buy a black fitting case such as the ones sold by InCase or by Speck. That would be a lot less expensive and would also provide protection for your white MacBook.
