I need help!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but whenever i try to drag Textedit documents into my trash, it doesn't do anything. I've never been able to delete them anyway, but it's just now beginning to annoy me. Please help!

What do you mean by doesn't do anything? Are you able to put file into the trash?

I'll drag it and it will just look like it went in the trash but it won't be there.
