Hi All,

I need to hook my Mac Pro up to my decks to record my sets buts heres where i am stuck...

How do i check if i have a sound card, and if dont have one do i need a specific one?

Which application should i use to record these sets?

Do i hook to Mac to the Decks up with a normal optical input in and out?

Hey

Lets start at the beginning. I'm going to assume you have a DJ mixer along the lines of a DJM 800 or something, which has lots of outputs to choose from.

The easiest way would be to use the RCA out on the mixer. This is sometimes called booth out or similar. Some cheaper desks have RCA as main outs also. Note that this isnt optical, but analog.

You need a cable like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/MONSTER-Minijac...1322054QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Hook it up to the line in on your mac pro (yes, you have a sound card in there) and record using anything you like. Most people use garageband.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions
