How do I restore files after I emptied my Trash

Hi, reposting to this forum not sure which is where it belongs

hope someone can help please

can I restore files/photos I had on a photo card that I drug to the trash and emptied.....(think not but hoping)

I'm on a NON intel G5 tower running 10.4

I don't know if this helps, but a quick google search yielded this...
