Firefox is all of a sudden displaying an almost unreadable font on some websites, but only certain ones. On others its displaying some kind of Chinese writing.

This is driving me insane. How do I go about resetting the defaults or resetting Firefox completely?

Thanks.

I don't know if this will help or not but if you by chance changed the encoding that Firefox is using, that error can occur. Open the Firefox preferences and check to be sure you're using the proper encoding. I can't remember off hand what it should be but I think it's the "Western Encoding" which should be selected. I'm not running Firefox right now and it's been awhile since I've used it. Someone else can jump in here and clarify....

Regards.

Although the encoding is set to Western, check that the fonts are set properly. Go to Preferences > Content > Advanced... and check what fonts are listed for proportional, serif, sans-serif and monospace. Here, they are set as such:

- Proportional: Serif
- Serif: Times
- Sans-serif: Helvetica
- Monospace: Courier
