• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hello, I'm pretty new to osx and i've having the hardest time finding an easy way to view mkv metadata. In windows it was as simple as right clicking and selecting properties. Is there a simple way in osx? Get info doesn't seem to provide the same information.

~Thanks

Highlight the MKV, and then go to the file menu and select get info (or hold down command and "i").

The OP said, quote, "Get info doesn't seem to provide the same information."

He also didn't mention exactly what he's specifically looking for in terms of information, but I find that leaving the Inspector window open in QuickTime player or VLC gives me a lot of info on video files I play.

Oops, missed that bit. Sorry.
Well then yes, playing in VLC and then using get info on VLC brings up all info.
