hey there,

im looking for some cheap speakers to work with my Macbook as im going to uni and teh macbook speakers are awfull!

i was looking at these Buy PHILIPS SPA1312/05 | 2.1 pc speakers - Specification | Comet

but im not sure they'll work with a mac?

If not can anyone recommend me some ok speakers for less than £40, i know they wont be great for that amount but thats all i can afford!

you can use any stereo system that can plug into the headphone jack of your mbp. Or if you get a more upscale system, it'll probably run usb. the headphone jack works great tho if you're not looking to spend a lot of money. I'm actually running a klipsche 5.1 system via headphone jack and it sounds great!

Well, I've had the speakers for a couple of weeks now and I must say, they're very nice.

Good bargain and decent sound. Can't go wrong.
