Mouse is so messed

ok, recently i gave up on my belkin 5 button mouse, i would click once, it would double click for me.

NOW i have this problem with my mac mouse. I click once, and whatever the target is, doesnt click. BUT, if i click away from it, and come back, it clicks fine.

WHY am i having so many mouse problems????
