When I do ls -al in /Volumes I get:

lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 1 Jun 19 10:25 Macintosh HD -> /

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, I have a symbolic link in Volumes to my hard drive.

1) Is this bad?
2) Am I OK in just deleting it (rm "Macintosh HD"), or is there some sort of special command I should use.

I realize this is sort of a dumb question but one sort of hesitates to delete anything that contains "Macintosh HD"....

Thanks,

Mark

Don't delete it! It points to the "root" of your hard drive.

Is there some reason you're curious about this?

Hesitation is probably a good thing since that's the name of the partition OS X is installed on.
