I bought an iMac 10.5.6 machine a while back. Obviously, I have since upgraded the OS to 10.5.8.

While cleaning out the box to make room, I came across an application CD that came with the iMac. I inserted the disk, and, when it went to check the machine to make sure it's capable of running the the programs, it returned the message "The application is unable to be installed on this computer."

Does anyone know why this message appears? Is it because I updated the OS? Is there a way I can work around this?

G'day and welcome to the Forums.

Sounds like an older version CD has become mixed up with your iMac software CDs as the Leopard version would make no difference. Most machines just come with disc one and disc two of the system install discs. The last silver grey Applications CD I can recall came with a G3 iMac.
