Good external Harddrive

Hi,

I was looking into buying a good external harddrive. But while I was looking for some on the BestBuy website, I saw that most of them have really bad ratings.

I really only need a 500GB one, since I don't have much to store, I just want to back everything up.

I don't want to be spending more than 70$ for it.

Are there any external harddrives that you would reccommend?


Oh and btw, This is just a temp one, once I get my mbp, I plan on getting a time capsule.

I think you should be looking on Ebay for that, there's no known 500GB HDD in that price range.

I have a 320 GB WD MyPassport which costs 99$, that would be a good choice, since you don't have to plug it in a powersupply.

Here is some food for thought ...

A oem hdd (without inclosure) at 320 GB is about 49$, 500GB about 65$ and 1TB about 99$ or less. The cost per GB favors the 1TB. Then just add an inclosure and your done.

I used a 500GB since it was a spare I already had ...

I found that one. Its a 640GB, free shipping, and only 70$. Anyone have any comments on this drive?
