Hello everyone,

My name is Carlo from Amsterdam, Holland and I've just joined this forum. I've been a Mac user for many years.

I have a problem I am unable to solve and I was wondering if anyone of you can help.

I am running OSX 10.4.11 on a Dual 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4. I have two external drives daisy chained on the FW 800 port. Suddenly, after no problems ever, the smaller drive (LaCie 500GB) does not show on my desktop.

- Disk Utility finds the drive
- Path Finder finds the drive and the drive is operating normally
- the Desktop stubbornly refuses to show it

I have:

- booted from the DVD and run disk utility
- unplugged/plugged-in the drive
- checked the preferences of the finder
- deleted the desktop preference file com.apple.desktop.plist and rebooted

Any suggestions?

Thanks
