Problem saving files from safari, screenshots

Im having trouble downloading any file in safari, or FF. it pops the little download window up, and says "cannot create file" in both programs.

also now my screenshot stuff wont work (apple-shift-3 or 4)

ive tried to repair my permissions, what else can i do?

try:

restart your system,

in safari menu, "reset safari",

in a program like onyx or main menu (search version tracker for either), clean your application and system caches).

problem solved. inside my user library, my desktop folder was renamed by mistake.

this would explain both problems, with the screenshot and the download (with S and FF). seeing as how they were told to save to "desktop " folder and there was none.

the safari reset was one of the first things i did, but i didnt think it would fix it, as it was a FF issue also.
