I hope I am not being stupid but after years of toggling between Insert and Overwrite in Windows (Word, WordPerfect, you name it) I cannot find the Insert key on my (still quite new) Mac.
I hope I am not being stupid but after years of toggling between Insert and Overwrite in Windows (Word, WordPerfect, you name it) I cannot find the Insert key on my (still quite new) Mac.
I found a way to use "insert/overtype" in microsoft word.
You go to Tools - Customize keyboard
Look for in Categories: All Commands
Look for in Commands: Overtype
then go to: Press new keyboard shortcut:
and assign a new shortcut.
Tip: If you don't want to reassign any of Word's preset shortcut keys, here's a little hint: the key combinations CTRL+[number keypad key] are usually unassigned.
Hope this helps
