17" MacBook Pro Sleep Problems

I have a new Intel 17" MacBook Pro that recently will not wakeup after I have closed it up. When I reopen the laptop I just get a blank screen. I have to do a complete restart to get the computer running again. Any suggestions?

May be a bum battery...

There was a previous thread about battery recall. Mine was doing the same thing until I got a new battery (apple sends a new one free if yours is a recall).
