I reformatted my old mac with Tiger 10.4.11. The Quicktime that has been installed isn't working, so I hunted down the correct version (7.6), when I try to install it won't it says a newer version is already installed on the system drive. I have hunted down every folder/icon/doc that says Quicktime and deleted it and restarted, still says it's installed. I have been googling the issue and can't find anything.

Does anyone know how to do a full uninstall of Quicktime on a PPC Mac with Tiger 10.4.11?

Thanks

Look in /Library/Receipts for a receipt for Quicktime. Delete it (or move to desktop).
Try the install again.
