I just bought a 160 gb lacie hd extreme triple interface, I am connecting it to my mac via firewire. I also bought an external lacie superdrive, firewire also. I only have 2 firewire ports on my mac. I know the external superdrive HAS TO BE connected directly to the mac, so tomorrow Im buying a firewire hub, a 6 port, cause I have the hd, superdrive, and ipod to connect via firewire, as opposed to switching them out when needed. my question is:
1. Is it ok to connect the external hd through a firewire hub?
2. will this slow down my transfer speeds?
3. is it ok for the ipod to be connected through this hub also?
4. will doing #3 slow down ipod transfers between the ipod and external/internal hd?

Question: Most of my firewire devices has two ports on them so I can daisy chain them, except for my camera.

On my chain I have an DVD burner, external disk drive and then the camera.

Isn't that the case for you and your drives?

none of my FW devices, like ipod, dvd burner, or external hd have an extra FW port, so no daisychaining here.
